Heroes of the Faith

Youth Group Bible Lesson

Download this FREE Youth Group Bible Lesson

This youth group Bible lesson focuses on Hebrews 11, known as “The roll call of Faith.” The goal of this youth group lesson is to introduce the thought of faith as a battle. We cover the issues of: why bad thing happen to good people; that heroes wouldn’t be heroes unless they fought a battle; that some battles are fought with weapons and fighting, but battles can also be fought in the mind.

This is a two page Sunday School Lesson plan with leaders guide. You’ll have to download some pictures of Spiderman and paste them in yourself. As a pre-lesson activity I showed a few minutes of the Spiderman movie and then let them watch it after the class.

On one nice warm Sunday I took the class outside for class. I said that if Spiderman hadn’t had an enemy to fight he would have just been an obnoxious teenager spraying spider silk on everyone. Then I sprayed them with Silly String.

Something Bigger: Heroes of Faith, 4-Week Video Curriculum

By Christ in Youth / Group Publishing

Youth Bible LessonTeenagers inherently feel the call to live for something bigger, to do something that makes a difference, to become people who impact the world around them. But many of those same teenagers wonder how they can best respond to that call.

Something Bigger will help your students explore four important decisions that will open the door to God’s work in their lives. Drawing on the lives and faith experiences of four biblical characters, youth ministry veterans Laurie Polich Short and Chase Allcott challenge teenagers in each session to examine their lives and take practical, real-world steps to grow in their faith.

This DVD-based curriculum includes four engaging lessons:

  • Jacob: Giving God Control [9:10]
  • Ruth: Commitment in Action [7:55]
  • Job: Perseverance Through Suffering [10:05]
  • Jonah: Saying Yes to God [6:16]

A New Heaven and Earth

This youth group Bible lesson is a follow-up to the lesson entitled, “What Happens When You Die?” The goal of this youth groupFREE Youth Group Bible Lessons lesson is to help kids develop an understanding of the goal of our faith. A lot of “Christian” teaching these days is primarily focused on making our lives better now. Healing services and the “prosperity gospel” crowd out proper teaching. Kids in the US have it pretty good. They don’t really want to go to heaven and can’t imagine that it can be better than earth. At their age, the world and it’s possibilities is just opening up to them. In Biblical speak, Satan has just begun to parade his exciting wares before their eyes. Fancy cars, great vacations, sex & relationships, making money, parties! Who wants to think about heaven?

Heaven

By Randy Alcorn / Tyndale House

Randy Alcorn HeavenAs the years pass and we watch more and more of our family, friends and mentors pass away, it is only natural to ask questions about heaven. However, our understanding of heaven is often limited to a few half-forgotten Sunday school lessons and the insubstantial images provided by popular movies and T.V. Fortunately, in Heaven Randy Alcorn provides us with a thoroughly researched and biblically definitive description of heaven. As Alcorn addresses our most serious questions about heaven, including the nature of judgment, and answers a few of our less serious questions as well, including the accessibility of cafe mochas in the sweet by and by. Readers will develop a deeper understanding of our eternal destination and find the courage to strive for heaven while living on earth.

Heaven Small Group Leader’s Pack

By Randy Alcorn / Lamplighter MediaRandy Alcorn Heaven

What is Heaven really going to be like? Will we look like ourselves? What will we do? Will there be marriage? Will Heaven get boring after a while? We all have questions about Heaven, and now after 25 years of research, Dr. Randy Alcorn has answers based on Biblical truths. The Heaven Small Group Leader Pack contains one DVD with 7 video sessions and one Discussion Guide.

Sin Nature and Sins, Infant Salvation:

On the first page of this youth group Bible lesson we make a clear differentiation between a humansYouth Group Bible Lessons sin nature and wrong doing (a sin deed). By human standards it seems unjust to condemn a person for something someone did thousands of years ago. However, the Bible is clear that the penalty of Adams sin hangs over everyone…“even over those who did not sin by breaking a command.” Romans 5: 12-20

On page two we handle the tough question, “Do all babies go to heaven when they die?” This is another instance where your credibility is on the line. Give the kids the whole Biblical answer and they’ll trust you on other subjects too. Give them the rote “Sunday School” answer and they’ll just stop listening.

Randy Alcorn handles this question well in his book, Heaven. I have used a quote from it and his guidance in preparing this lesson. A link to Christianbook.com is provided for you to order a copy of this great resource. He has a website called Eternal Perspective Ministry.

It has many great articles including one on this subject: “Do infants go to heaven when they die?” Read Randy Alcorn’s article click here

You could teach this as two separate youth group lessons or skip page two if you just don’t want to cover it. I understand your reluctance on this one. It’s a tough subject but also one the enemy can twist into having people believe that God is unjust and unmerciful. Taking about it helps defuse this possibility.
