The Barna Research Group, in its 1999 survey entitle “Third Millennium Teens” found that 65% of Christian young people do not believe that Satan is a real entity. The goal of this lesson is to give young Christians some Biblical background about our enemy. We can learn a lot about Satan from the Bible. Once the enemy is exposed he looses a lot of his ability to trick us into sin.

To illustrate unseen things I used a portable stereo (boom box) that had a remote control. They believed the remote control was working the stereo even though they could not see the signals being sent. I used film clips from The Water Boy because I just crack up when Kathy Bates says, “DA DEBIL”. There are also scenes showing the team reviewing training video showing how they study their opponents moves so they can win. This illustrates why we should be aware of the devils schemes.

Calloused Hearts

The goal of this youth Bible study is to demonstrate the slow degradation of our ideas of right and wrong when we plunge inCalloused Hearts Youth Bible Lesson to societies norms without the knowledge of scripture as a foundation. We demonstrate the change in our attitudes by looking at the changes in acceptable swim wear from 1920 to 1967.

I first wrote this lesson to show how violent video games deaden our sensitivity to killing and death. The boys in one youth group were incensed when I banned Halo and other violent games that my predecessor had played with them a lot, even setting up tournaments. Read more on my blog.

This is a two-page Bible study with a pre-lesson activity that reinforces the lesson. It also includes a teachers guide.

Time Changer, DVD

By Christiano Film Group

The year is 1890 and Bible professor Russell Carlisle (D. David Morin) has written a new manuscript “The Changing Times.” His book is about to receive a unanimous endorsement from the board members of the Grace Bible Seminary until his colleague Dr. Norris Anderson (Gavin MacLeod) raises an objection. Dr. Anderson believes that what Carlisle has written could greatly affect the future of coming generations. Using a secret time machine, Anderson sends Carlisle over 100 years into the future, offering him a glimpse of where his beliefs will lead.

This is an excellent way to demonstrate how peoples attitudes and morals have changed over the years.
