Free Bible Lessons For Teenagers

Teen Bible Lessons and books about the Bible

I have never found a Sunday School curriculum that I like so I make my own lesson plan each week. Far from the “bubblegum” Sunday School lessons frequently found at your local bookstore, these Youth Group Lesson plans handle serious doctrinal issues in a way that kids can understand.

These Christian Sunday School lessons are tailored to the Middle School age youth group but can be adapted and taught many ways (see my suggestions). Each Bible lesson has been taught and refined several times. Many include activities or games that help drive home the lesson. All include a leaders guide. The list is in no particular order.

While the Sunday School Lessons for teenagers are free to use, please respect my copyrights by leaving the credit statement on the sheet when you make copies for your class. I’d love to get your feedback (e-mail).

If supplies are needed for the lessons I have provided links to sources for those supplies for your convenience. I hope these lessons enhance your youth ministry experience.

Growing Strong in God’s Family

By The Navigators / NavPress

A classic discipleship course that covers the basics for new believers. In 11 sessions based on Colossians 2:7, you’ll learn about effectively memorizing Scripture, developing contacts with non-Christians, creating an evangelism list, practicing conversational prayer, and more. Includes leader’s tips and completion record. The first book in the 2:7 series. The series focuses on how to study the Bible, have quiet times, and memorize Scripture.

The goal of this Sunday School lesson is to instill the core belief that The Holy Bible is a trustworthy pattern for our faith. This lesson presents the internal-proof that the Bible is the unchanging, infallible word of God.

It is a one page, color lesson plan with a pre-lesson activity that makes the point. About 15 minutes for the activity and 15 minutes for the lesson. The activity takes some pre-planning.

How We Got Our Bible: Youth Edition (Group Kit)

By Ralph Earle / Barefoot Ministries

The Bible has been read for thousands of years, but how did it originate? Adapting Ralph Earle’s popular resource for youth, Mike Wonch’s 6-week study introduces kids to issues such as canonization, biblical transmission, archaeological discoveries, and more to help them understand and appreciate God’s Word. Kit includes the book and an enhanced DVD with six short films, leader’s guide, and handouts.

The goal of this Bible study lesson is the same reason Luke gives for writing his book, “so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.” (Luke 1:4). As kids begin forming their own faith apart from their parents it is imperative we give them a firm base. Confidence in the source of the information used in forming their faith is essential.

This is a two page lesson plan with leaders guide. A lot of information was gleaned out of Josh McDowell’s book show above and The Navigators study guide shown below.

Your Life in Christ

Your Life in Christ
Your Life In Christ, the first topical Bible study in the revised Design for Discipleship (DFD) series by The Navigators, shows what it means to accept God’s love for you. Its 4 sessions will help you to keep Christ at the center of your life and learn to live in the power of the Spirit. If using in a group, personal study is needed between meetings.

The questions and subjects are great for making your own lessons for a teenage Sunday school class. I used some ideas from this book for the Sunday School lesson above.

I have used these booklets for years with tremendous results from both teenagers and adults. They are treasured parts of my personal resource library. Click on the book to see all of the series from Barns & Nobel.
